IISG Secretariat participates in regional cybersecurity coordination events

The IISG Secretariat participated in two regional cybersecurity coordination events held at the premises of the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C) in Podgorica, Montenegro, aimed at strengthening regional cooperation, donor coordination, and cyber resilience in the Western Balkans.

On 4 May 2026, the IISG Secretariat participated in the EU-Funded Projects Coordination Meeting on Cyber Capacity Building in the Western Balkans, organized by DG ENEST. The meeting gathered representatives of EU institutions, EU Delegations, ENISA, the Council of Europe, WB3C, CIVIPOL, and other implementing partners active in the field of cybersecurity and cyber capacity building.

Discussions focused on improving coordination among EU-funded cybersecurity initiatives, enhancing information sharing, identifying synergies, and avoiding duplication of efforts across the region. During the meeting, the IISG Secretariat presented the Security Governance Hub framework and the IISG Cybersecurity Database as a regional coordination, mapping, and analytical platform supporting evidence-based planning, donor coordination, and identification of gaps and overlaps in cybersecurity assistance.

On 5 May 2026, the IISG Secretariat participated in the launch event of the regional project “Improving the Resilience of Critical Entities and the Protection of Public Spaces and the Cyberspace against Security Threats in the Western Balkans (WB CEPS & Cyber).”

The meetings reaffirmed the importance of strengthened regional coordination, information sharing, and complementarity among EU-funded and international cybersecurity initiatives in the Western Balkans.
