19th Regional Network of National CT-PCVE Coordinators (RNNC) of the WB
The 19th Meeting of the Regional Network of National Counter-Terrorism and Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism Coordinators (RNNC) of the Western Balkans was held in Tirana, Albania.
The meeting gathered representatives of Western Balkans partners, European Union institutions, international organizations.
Discussions focused on developments related to the implementation of the Joint Action Plan (JAP), updates on the EU Counter-Terrorism Agenda 2026, and progress concerning the Roadmaps of the Western Balkans partners.
During the meeting, the Head of the IISG Secretariat presented the IISG approach to supporting the future monitoring of the Roadmaps within the framework of the IISG process. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring that Roadmap measures remain fully aligned with the objectives and references of the Joint Action Plan, while also being logically structured and supported by clearly defined baselines, indicators, targets, verification mechanisms, implementation timelines, and responsible institutions.
On the second day, a Community of Practice workshop entitled “Intersectoral Approach and Interinstitutional Cooperation to Ensure Prevention of Violent Extremism and the Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Children and Mothers Repatriated from Conflict Zones” was organized jointly by GCERF, Hedayah, and RCC/IISG.
The RNNC meeting reaffirmed the importance of regional cooperation, coordinated reporting, and strengthened institutional collaboration in addressing counter-terrorism and preventing/countering violent extremism priorities across the Western Balkans.
